Top Things to do in Port Barton, Philippines

Port Barton is a hidden wonder of Palawan, from the moment you arrive in this little town you will fall in love. It is still an up-and-coming location but I know in the next couple of years it's only going to get busier with travelers. Better enjoy this beautiful destination while you can, here is a list of the top things to do in Port Barton Palawan.

Island Hopping: What better way to enjoy a nice beautiful day than going on the island hopping tour. You can book your tour through any hostels or you can go directly to the beach in the morning and find the best option for you. I recently heard that the boat tours don't have A, B, C letters anymore, the boat captains decide where is best to go the day of. You will definitely have the opportunity to go snorkeling at some beautiful coral reefs and have the chance to meet some turtles or more. You will see more than enough starfishes all over the islands but be careful because a starfish can not live out of the water for more than 1 minute. If you want to take a picture better be safe and fast.

White Beach: There are many ways to get to the white beach, you can drive a scooter, take a taxi, or take a boat. We decided on the boat since it was rarely cheaper and we got to enjoy the view to get to the destination. The captain will ask you the time that he will pick you up, you can easily spend half a day or the whole day on this beach. It has a small little restaurant bar that you can enjoy cocktails and lots of hammocks attached to palm trees. Try to get here earlier since it can get crowded but this is the perfect location to chill and relax

Pamuayan Beach: One of the most peaceful and secluded beaches in the area, you will enjoy this long sandy beach full of starfish and sometimes jellyfish depending on the tide. I recommend taking a boat to get here or drive a scooter and stay till sunset. Go later in the afternoon so you can stay later and enjoy the sunset at this beach.

Sunset Watching: What better way to finish a long day in the sun than to sit back and enjoy the sunset. Every place you end up has a unique sunset and is always more beautiful than the other one. If you don't want to watch it at Pamuayan beach just walk the main beach in Port Barton and find your perfect spot!

Eating in town: the Philippines is known to have good food but Port Barton actually impressed me. You have so many varieties of restaurants to choose from, vegan, Italian, local, Asian, etc. You can choose from a nice restaurant by the beach or go more to the town where you will find the majority of choices. One of my personal recommendation if you want some good pizza, Gorgonzola Pizza, huge pizzas to share with a good variety of choices. Go enjoy some tacos and drinks at Mojito Restobar, good ambiance, and food you will love it.

I spent 4 days in port Barton and it was just the right amount of time. Since the town is small and charming you don't need to spend much time here to enjoy it to the fullest. If you are tight on time, you can easily spend 2 days here and do everything that has to be done otherwise take some time and relax, enjoy Port Barton!

Things to bring

If you are traveling with a GoPro I highly recommend getting this GoPro Kit, it's been really useful throughout all my vacations. Don't forget some water shoes, this will be super important anywhere you go in the Philippines, it will make your life so much better. Another thing that I would consider bringing is a waterproof bag, I know there are many types of bag but you want a different one than everyone else so you can differentiate it from others.
